МОСКОВСКИЙ ЦЫГАНСКИЙ ТЕАТР «РОМЭН» ПРАЗДНУЕТ 80 ЛЕТИЕ
«ROMEN» GIPSY THEATRE CELEBRATES 80th ANNIVERSARY
L'unico teatro gitano al mondo, il «Romen» di Mosca, festeggia l'ottantesimo anniversario dalla sua fondazione. Era il 17 dicembre 1931 quando venne presentato al pubblico il primo spettacolo della giovane compagnia teatrale, allora formata da artisti presi direttamente dalla strada, molti dei quali non sapevano neanche leggere e scrivere. Oggi il repertorio del Teatro spazia dai classici all'arte drammatica contemporanea ed annovera 14 spettacoli. Milioni di spettatori in tutto il mondo hanno applaudito l'originale produzione artistica del «Romen», che rispecchia la vivacità e il colorito tipici del popolo gitano. La storia del teatro si intreccia con quella delle dinastie di attori – Zolotarev, Zhemciuzhnje, Olgu e Lekarev - che lo hanno reso grande, e ancora oggi non è raro vedere fianco a fianco sul palcoscenico padri e figli, mogli e mariti. Quasi tutta la compagnia, vale a dire più di 80 attori, recita nello spettacolo «Noi Zingari» («Мы цыгане»), un'opera che mette in scena il destino plurisecolare del popolo nomade. Il direttore artistico del «Romen», Nikolaj Slicenko (Николай Сличенко) non esita a definire questo spettacolo il «biglietto da visita» del Teatro, con cui la compagnia ha varcato i confini di decine di paesi in tutto il mondo.
On December 16th the Romen Gipsy Theatre in Moscow, which is the only Gipsy theatre in the world, celebrates its 80th anniversary. On December 16th, 1931, members of the “Indo-Romen” Gipsy theatre in Moscow showed their first musical-drama performance Life on Wheels. This is how the Romen Theatre, which, by the way, was created on the initiative and with the participation of the authoritative representatives of Russian culture, came into being. As you know, the Russian society has always admired the artistic traditions of the Gipsy people, regarding the Gipsy culture as an ideal of freedom, which is so attractive for the Russian people. Their attitude towards the art of the Gipsy people has undergone no changes. And as regards the “Russian Gipsies”, they acutely feel that they are closely linked with the ethnic Gipsies as well as with their culture.
