Viacesląv Ivąnov, in russo: Вячеслав Иванов (1866-1949), č stato un poeta e drammaturgo russo, associato al movimento del simbolismo russo. Fu inoltre filosofo, traduttore e critico letterario, ideologo del «dionisismo» o «culto dionisiaco», il brillante rappresentante dellEtą dArgento. Dal 1924 viveva in Italia.
Del simbolismo russo Viaceslav Ivąnov fu creativamente uno dei maggiori rappresentanti accanto ad Aleksandr Blok (Александр Блок) e ad Andrej Belyj (Андрей Белый). Cominciņ a poetare in russo nel 1898 ma pubblicņ poesie originali solo nel 1903. Nel frattempo avevano esercitato influsso su di lui da una parte Nietzsche, dallaltra il filosofo e poeta russo Vladimir Soloviov (Владимир Соловьёв).
A Roma continuņ a poetare e a scrivere saggi letterari e filosofici, alcuni dei quali pubblicati in italiano, come quelli su Pushkin, e altri in tedesco (in particolare quello su Dostojevskij). Tra le poesie del periodo romano sono da segnalare «I Sonetti Romani» («Римские Сонеты», 1925) e il poema «LUomo» («Человек»), cominciato gią in Russia nel 1915 e pubblicato a Parigi nel 1939. Limportanza di Ivąnov consistette nell'aver dato alla sua teoria e alla sua opera creativa e critica il carattere di «idealismo oggettivo», di fronte agli eccessi idealistico-soggettivi e impressionistici della prima generazione decadente-simbolista.
